Snackin’ Place 3D Print
This statue was one of my absolute favorites in Disneyland. The charm of a beautifully crafted sign for a churro stand is exactly what made Disneyland so special to me. Critter Country was filled with wooden sculptures that captivated me since childhood. With the removal of Splash Mountain, I decided to take plenty of photos and recreate some of these wonderful pieces for myself.
This was the very first model I printed using resin. I had picked up a printer for a great deal on Facebook Marketplace and was eager to put it to work. Since the build plate was designed for miniatures, I wasn’t able to scale up until about a year later. When I did make larger prints of this model, I had a lot of fun adding detail during the painting process. I absolutely love dry brushing and replicating the look of wooden carvings and the bigger the model, the more detail I could include.
In the beginning, I had to be mindful of the model’s small size (under 4 inches), which meant scaling back on some of the more delicate elements, like the “Peckish?” sign. One day, I’d love to revisit this project and do a full-size rendering now that I have the ability to print at a larger scale.
