Blizzard Beach Baby Gators

It’s one thing to design models within the confines of a computer screen. It’s another thing entirely to make them tangible and real. Back in 2021 I visited Blizzard Beach for the first time in 20 years. I had forgotten how cute the characters were and since Disney didn’t sell anything related to the Gators anymore, I took it as a sign that I should make some myself.

First I gathered a lot of reference images to sculpt off of within Zbrush….

I then created a mold with Oomoo and made copies of the gator using fast cure resin.

On the right are the final products after painting was completed. This project ignited my spark for creating scenic props.

Then it was a lot of hours of sculpting, 3D printing, sanding, and painting. This was the first “mold” I made via a printer and I learned a lot about this process and was able to make future projects even more solid.
