Briar Patch 3D Model

Back in 2024 I visited Disneyland and was surprised to see this sign still standing at Disneyland long after Splash Mountain had closed. I thought it would be fun practice for modeling and printing, so I decided to recreate it.

As much as I wanted to go for complete accuracy to the original sign, I had to take into account that this would need to be printed, put in molds, and be shipped without it breaking. Since that as the case, all of the briars had to adhere to the actual sign to ensure stability and strength.

The original intention was for this to be a fridge magnet, but I had just purchased an Elegoo Jupiter resin printer and knew I could go bigger. I pushed it to a 10” sign where I could add additional detail. Then I got an email asking for a custom sign that was even bigger. I was able to push it to almost 2 feet. I cut this into four pieces using Meshmixer and printed this all in resin to try and mitigate any future sanding that a PLA print would need.
